Oven Barbecued Ribs
Recipe

Thursday, October 11, 2012
Barbecue season is over, but that doesn't mean you can't cook ribs anymore! Quite on the contrary! This recipe will allow you to cook them all year round! These ribs are fairly easy to throw together, with a taste that the whole family will adore. It has been our family recipe for years, and now, I want to pass it along to you and make it your family's favourite as well!

3-4 lbs spareribs, cut in pieces
1 lemon, squeezed for the juice
1 large onion, thinly sliced

Marinade:
1 c. catsup
1/3 c. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
2 dashes of tabasco sauce
1 1/2 c. water

  • Preheat oven at 450° F.
  • Salt ribs and place in shallow pan, meaty side up.
  • Roast for about 30 minutes. It will be less if you are using back ribs because they are less fatty. Drain excess fat from the pan.
  • Top each piece of ribs with some lemon and slice of onion.
  • Make sauce by combining all the ingredients and bringing to a boil in a medium pot.
  • Pour marinade over ribs.
  • Lower oven temperature to 350° F
  • Bake until well done, approximately 1 1/2 hours (fork should go in and out very easily).
  • Baste ribs with the sauce once or twice.
  • If sauce gets too thick, add a little water.
