Every year, on March 31st at 8:30pm, it's Earth hour. An hour where people unite to protect the planet. Hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to support this event, the largest environmental one in history.
You're probably wondering if an hour can really make a difference. And, the answer is, “Yes, it definitely can.” Doing so sends a message loud and clear to all governments that they need to address these issues. And one of the issues here is sustainability. More than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011 alone, sending a powerful message for action on climate change. Without a doubt, it’s shown how great things can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.
Actions need to be taken by all of us, not only today, on Earth Hour day, but EVERYDAY. Simple changes can make a huge difference. Please, take part in making a difference. Make a change to save the planet. Make a change to keep it healthy for our generations to come... for your child's future. You can start doing so by just turning off your lights...

I've heard of Earth Hour in previous years, but honestly didn't hear about it this year. Wish I would have checked your page yesterday! Thanks for sharing this info on a simple change we can all make.
