Preparing Your Children For Daylight Saving Time
Wednesday, October 31, 2012 Labels: A Helping Hand For Parents
I am feeling on the fence about the upcoming weekend. Love weekends. But compared to prior years, this one weekend out of the 52 of them is different. First off, we are turning the clocks back an hour. Great, great news. That equals to more quality time with the two loves of my life. But here's the part that troubles me a bit. My son. I'm a little concerned about the end results for him. How he will adapt and cope with daylight saving time. That's what creates the downfall of this weekend. But im coming prepared. With the bit of information I have collected, not just for me but for you as well, I should survive. Hopefully.

Fun Activities for Kids
I was debating. Will this week's arts and crafts activity be about Halloween, or not? Then I figured that Halloween was almost a thing of the past so I thought of moving on to something that can be enjoyed any time of the year! I wanted to present you with something very, very easy for children of any age. So here it is! Something that your littles ones will have the time of their life with!
I named this cake such way because it's perfect for those lazy Sunday afternoons when you feel like making a nice, moist and delicious cake for your family, yet want to keep it easy and simple. One thing is for sure, no one will be able to resist this savoury and delectable cake! Makes 10 servings.

Did you hear that?!? It's winter season knocking at our door again! Time to get our little ones ready and geared up for all those winter wonderland perks! Although, when the time comes to equip our children for those winter sports, our wallets aren't always on the same page. Which gave me the idea of helping out a little. Making a Santa out of myself! And what better way than being generous with a giveaway event! And I would love for you to join this event like no other!
It's Halloween time! Which also means spoiling ourselves with some not-so healthy foods. Chocolate, candies and those good old chips! We all love our chips but the guilty feeling that comes with it, not so much! But hold on! What if you could eat chips and still do your body good? And how about if you could win some of those fantastic and delicious chips?
Over the past couple of weeks I have been presenting you various Halloween crafts aimed for decorating purposes. Then I realized, isn't Halloween also about costumes??! Kids love to dress up in Halloween-themed costumes and adore the fact that they can pretend to be whoever their heart desires. Then it dawned on me... I had to make the topic of my next Halloween post about a disguise. And so I came up with an arts and crafts that is fairly elementary to make and that will certainly bring loads of fun and laughter to its creator: your child!
I won't lie, I love cooking and I love baking. I love experimenting with food and adore my kitchen, that is where I feel most in my element. I picked up the cooking bug when I was in my late teens. I slowly got introduced to many dishes, foods, and flavours that I slowly learned to love and appreciate. I can say in all honesty that I am proud of all the different cooking techniques I have learned over the years and how much I have grown as a "cook". I have been able to gain enough confidence and creativeness to play around with recipes and put together my own as well as know-how in using cooking tools to their maximum potential. That being said, any kitchen tool that can make my life easier and more enjoyable, I'm all on it! One day, a few weeks ago, I came across a company called Dreamfarm. Their ingenuity blew me away. Their designs and product purposes puts them in a league of their own.
A high quality, sturdy, and stylish stroller can be hard to come by. Today you don't have to look very far since we're giving one away! The German engineered Kiddy City 'N Move is everything a parent dreams of and now it is available in the USA.

Okay, Okay! I know I said I was a huge sweets fan and also Asian food fan but I have another one to add to the list: pasta! I don't know if it's my Italian heritage that shaped me to be such way, but I adore pasta! And the apple never falls too far from the tree because my son could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! So, my creative side is constantly called upon to create new meals made with pasta. Not easy but I manage not so bad I must admit. The Pesto Pasta Delight is something that was pretty much thrown together out of the blue and that turned out to be one of our favourite recipes for those quick and easy dinner nights. The veggies and pesto come together to create a taste that is sublime!
I don't know about you, but I love everything asian. Whether it be Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, I have a humongous love affair with the various flavours and textures of their cuisine. My boyfriend and I have been growing more and more of a passion in preparing asian-inspired dishes. Our skills are slowly getting there too! Now, my favourite, for this pork recipe, is to serve it with jasmine rice and bok choy... almost a master chef dish, almost!

This sauce is simply all-around amazing. First off, as you will notice, there's not many steps, hence no need for you to be in the kitchen for hours cooking it. Secondly, its versatility is impressive. Pair it with anything, it will always taste divine. And lastly, this sauce bursts with flavour!
Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! That pretty much sums it up! These fries are extremely easy to make and are baked in the oven, rather than in oil. Basically makes them that much healthier! Depending on the type of potatoes you are using, you can leave the skin on or not. Yellow or red potatoes give excellent results with the skin on. Yields 4 portions.
Parenthood road is paved with many duties. Parents wear many hats; caregiver, mentor, friend, confident, and above all, teacher. We never cease educating our children. From the moment they are born we try to guide them and show them the ropes on everything life is made of. And even though we might excel with flying colors at certain parenting tasks, other times we truly, madly, deeply wish we had help. Which brings me to the presentation of this extra fun giveaway. Say hello to "Monster Time"!

Show Off Your Pink, It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Thursday, October 4, 2012 Labels: Informative Infos
October is a month that should be specially marked on every woman's calendar. A month that should be particularly meaningful to women all around the world. Why? Because it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), and because breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, as well as the principle cause of death from cancer among women globally. These overwhelming facts should be enough, I believe, to encourage women in caring for their breasts and make everyone take part in the cause. Because, really, you never know...
